The freezer features thoughtful design elements, too, like sliding drawers that help better organize the position of items. It also has a large bin that holds plenty of frozen food and an additional container for storing ice. Another awesome feature of this refrigerator is its Smart InstaView panel. You can control the temperature, lighting, and more of your fridge from your smartphone. It's a good way to monitor and manage your refrigerator, particularly if you're away from home. The Smart InstaView feature is neat, but it doesn't necessarily improve the efficiency of the fridge. In fact it took a bit longer to defrost and chill foods in this fridge than some of the others we tested. This is likely due to the greater capacity. Another issue with the door of this refrigerator. They have sunken handles on the front that allow smaller people to open them from the bottom, but they're still difficult for taller people to guide closed without slamming them. It would have been much better if they had a front-mounted handles. The LG Counter-Depth MAX is a excellent option for those looking to combine the advantages of a French-door refrigerator's aesthetics with a more efficient layout. Its capacity is higher than average for a counter-depth model and it cools evenly and has a good layout. It's also a bit cheaper than the top counter depth refrigerators that have an ice maker, which makes it a great choice. Frigidaire Counter Depth French Door Refrigerator If you're looking for an French door refrigerator that won't cost you a fortune, this Frigidaire is a great choice. It has a simple design that isn't as striking in appearance as other models but it does have enough features to make it a solid pick. Its most notable feature is the adjustable temperature drawer, helps to keep food items like meat and vegetables fresher for longer. It also comes with a large water and ice maker dispenser. Another nice feature is the “Chill Drawer” that sits above the two crisper bins. This drawer lets you redirect a portion of the fridge's cooling power to this area, so it can be used to store food items that require extra attention. You can alter this feature by using an adjustable slider that is located just on the outside of the drawer. You can also set the general cooling settings for the entire fridge. I've found that the general settings are more effective than the specific ones. During my tests, the temperatures of the refrigerator were fairly constant across the different areas of the fridge. The temperatures in the top, bottom and middle of the fridge didn't differ significantly from 38 degrees. That's a good performance, but it doesn't quite rank among the best in our ratings. This fridge has a few other neat features, including a temperature-monitoring display that alerts you to fluctuations and provides a forecast for the day ahead. You can also combine this fridge with a smart thermometer to get more precise measurements of your fridge's internal temperature.
